Kinder Tribe Linky

I'm so excited to link up with the wonderful Kindergarten teachers at the Kinder Tribe! To learn more about this new and wonderful blog, click the button below!

Here is my "All About Me."

Years Teaching
Yep, you read that right! I have been teaching 11 years! When I started teaching we didn't have TPT, teacher blogs and iPhones! How things have changed! Most of my teaching has been in Kindergarten with a few years of 1st grade dabbled in between.

I can't live without my...
Kids and husband of course! I have 3 men in my life and I can't imagine it with out them.
Seriously, how handsome are they?

Favorite School Supplies
My favorite Pens to use are RSVP fine point. As teachers we all have a pen we love and this is mine! My other favorite is Mr.Sketch markers, I'm pretty sure I own 10 sets! They work great for anchor charts and my students love when I correct their work with the "smelly markers."

 My favorite Book
Pete the Cat books are my favorites! They are so catchy and my kids LOVE them. When we came across a Pete the Cat book at a book fair the kids screamed as if they had seen a rock star!

 My favorite Kinder Blog
I LOVE Deedee Wills' blog! I'm pretty sure she is one of the big reasons I became a blogger. She runs her classroom like a well oiled machine and it looks great! She also makes some pretty awesome resources. I was lucky enough to attend a few of her workshops a year and a half ago and she is just as amazing in person! I also was able to see her again when I attended the TPT conference in Vegas this summer. If you haven't already, I highly suggest you visit her blog! (click the image!)

I love Kindergarten because...
My kiddos make such AMAZING growth! My Loves come barely knowing their letters and numbers and leave me reading and solving equations. I love how their little minds work and the excitement they have for learning!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Popping Up

I know some of my Tri-State Area friends still have a bit of summer left but I know some of you are starting school soon! With "Back to School" time just around the corner I decided to spruce up one of my old products.  These little tags can be found in my TPT store and best of all it's a FREEBIE!
I add these tags to a bag of popcorn and hand them out to my parents who attend "Back to School" night to show my thanks.
I have made two versions to help everyone out! I have a colored version and I find them simply adorable! I also have a black and white version you can print out on your favorite colored paper (I prefer astrobrights paper).
I promise you, this will be a hit! Better yet popcorn is cheep so you wont be breaking the bank to show your parents how much you appreciate them!
So "pop" on into my store and scoop up this freebie!

Viva Las Vegas

Well, I just got back from the TPT convention in Las Vegas and my head is swimming with everything I learned! I had the most AMAZING time and an enjoyed every moment!
Lodato's Loves

We got there a few days early so we could enjoy the sights. Everything was beautiful, if I had to pick my favorite resort I would have to go with the Mirage. The grounds are just beautiful - and when you have dolphins and tigers in your backyard how can you go wrong?

As if the sights weren't  enough the food was delicious too. Our favorite was a place called Hash House a Go Go! They have a few locations so if you get the chance to be near one, GO!
Lodato's Loves

Wednesday night there was a Blogger Meet Up hosted by the Authors of Blog Hoppin. Over a 1,000 bloggers showed up to the meet up and they gave away some awesome prizes!

On Thursday I attended three sessions. My first session was called the Super Powers of Power Point with Michelle OakesHope King and Rachelle Smith. Those Ladies taught me the ins and outs of power point and helped even the most seasoned TPT authors learn a new trick or two.

Lodato's Loves

My Second Session was a Starting Sellers Panel where many seasoned sellers shared tons of knowledge on how to get your feet wet in the TPT world.

My Last session was another panel for Beginining Bloggers. Some wonderful bloggers shared how they are successful in the blogging world!

Friday was a very busy day and I had 4 sessions, that left me with more information then I could fit in my notebook! I started with Unlock the Code- Secrets of Sellers Success with Chris Kesler. Chris not only had us all laughing but was very informative as well.

Up Next was Rachel Lynette with Do this, Not That. Now, how could you not learn oodles from one of the most successful TPT authors out there. She gave tons of advice and really opened my eyes on how to use different forms of social media.

After lunch Jennifer White presented on How to Do It All, And Feel Good. Bad news is, you really cant do it all! BUT Jennifer was sooooo motivating and gave the best tips on how to organize your life so you can have time for almost everything! I absolutely adore Jennifer and if possible she is sweeter in person.
TPT Las Vegas

I wrapped up the conference with Advanced Pintrest with Mel D! After that session I couldn't wait to get on my pintrest boards and take all her ideas to spruce everything up!

I really learned an enormous amount and cant wait to put all my new knowledge into action!

Monday Made It- June 22

Happy Summer Everyone!
I am linking up with 4th Grade Frolics to show what I have made! My first project is from last summer. I never shared it so it still counts, right?!

When I decided to go with a color theme to my classroom I really didn't want to buy all new stuff so I invested in A LOT of spray paint. I had this toy/bin organizer that I loved.
With some time and spray paint I was able to turn it into this!

I love how it turned out. I get complements on it and often followed by, "Where did you get that?" I am always so proud to say I made it :)

My next Monday made it comes from home. My hubby and son had a joint 4th/40th Birthday. Star Wars theme of course, and I made these delicious cakes!

I am no pro but I think they came out pretty nice! Here is a family photo at the party while we are in our Star Wars gear!

Don't forget to hop on over to 4th Grade Frolics so you can see all the wonderful Monday Made It posts!

Watermelon Day!

As promised, here is our WATERMELON DAY! How can you go wrong with watermelon?! We started off by digging right in.

Then we used describing words to write about what we know about watermelon!

We used this great little unit by Jessica Travis She has some great units in her store, I am never disappointed with what she does.

Then we made some watermelon buddies. by Christa Lynos

Popcorn Day

As the school year winds down I start to have theme days full of fun! One of our fun days was POPCORN DAY! The students loved it! We started by reading some books to get us in the popcorn zone.
These are my favorites:

We then made a little popcorn craft that went along with our sight words. (I found the popcorn bucket and outline on google images)

Then we made popcorn! My lovely co-teacher brought in her air popper and the students went CRAZY! I have a video of it on my Instagram account.
It was delicious!
We used our 5 senses to explore our popcorn (and our favorite sense to use was taste!) I found this cute little freebie from Sunny and Bright in First Grade

This product has the cutest clipart! The students did a wonderful job!
Up next WATERMELON DAY!

My Teeny Tiny Room

Here are a few pictures of my room this year. You can tell I went with a color combo theme and I LOVE it. It helps my room feel super homey.
This is a view from the back of my room.

This is one side of my room I hang literacy work on the large bulletin board. My numbers are above as will as my word families.

Word wall and white board. I also have my reading strategy posters up as well.

This is my carpet area. Those bight green shapes are sit spots. If you have not herd about sit spots you are missing out! They are AMAZING. You can learn more about them here
